Before
Drawing inspiration from a waterfront development in False Creek, Vancouver, Emaar Properties and the architects at HOK Canada transformed a desert between the Arabian Gulf and a major highway into one of the biggest and most glamorous man-made marinas in the world: Dubai Marina.
Now
A major commercial and residential hub, Dubai Marina boasts a dazzling skyline that is perhaps best known for the Cayan Tower - or ‘the twisting tower’ - that rises 307 metres/75 stories above the marina. Opposite the tower are six luxury apartment buildings, named after traditional fragrances, offering plenty of amenities that are fit for a Riviera lifestyle.
Living in Dubai Marina
High-rise apartments feature prominently in Dubai Marina. Not only are they incredibly spacious, but they also come with a range of property services, so that residents can make the most of what this waterfront neighbourhood has to offer.
You can enjoy landscaped walkways, public parks, and long boulevards within an urban setting. The 8km-long promenade is a popular spot for morning strollers, evening joggers and weekend cyclists. The water bus provides another way to enjoy the marina and admire the views from the shore.
Premium retail outlets and world-class restaurants are well within walking distance. The Dubai Marina Mall is home to over 130 shops and 20 eateries, a state-of-the-art cinema that offers an immersive and unique experience, and a Waitrose supermarket where expats can find all the essentials and much more. Pier 7 is a magnet for fine dining lovers. Each floor presents a different type of cuisine, served with lush interiors and stunning views of the marina.
A vibrant area within Dubai Marina is Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) where you can find a variety of premium properties and a dizzying choice of shops, cafes, hotels, and clubs. There is also an outdoor pop-up market and an open-air cinema that shows classic films and blockbusters every Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
You can find your fitness fix here in the marina too. The Grosvenor House, Hilton JBR, and InterContinental Dubai Marina offer excellent gym facilities and indulgent spa treatments. Other fitness hubs, such as The Warehouse and NRG Fitness, run regular classes to help you re-energise after a long day at work.
